100th post & a happy birthday!

Dang!  This is my 100th blog post.  ONE HUNDRED POSTS!  Coincidentally, it happens to line up with my anniversary of launching Miss Freddy in Seattle. While I totally did not plan that, when I realized both milestones were happening simultaneously, I knew I had to do something fun to celebrate. The theme of the week...

grace

Grace’s mom and I have a mutual friend.  No, not someone I’ve met since moving to Seattle.  Sometimes connections form in the most interesting ways. It’s a friend from her former life in California.  Whom I studied abroad with in Dublin [gosh, was that 10 years ago already?]. Through the magic of Facebook, we all...

summer newborn special!

———————– THIS DEAL HAS EXPIRED, VIEW NEW SPECIAL HERE —————————- In May, I attended a newborn posing workshop.  I photographed many newborns when we lived in Minneapolis, but this portion of my business had been quiet for the last two years [as we moved twice & welcomed a baby of our own].  The workshop was the...

ellie’s first birthday!

I love cake smashes.  Each child has a completely unique reaction to being set in front of a cake for the first time.  Some are timid.  Some crawl away.  Some stare blankly at you, waiting for direction.  Yet, others DIG IN and smash the cake into their face without any instruction or encouragement from their...

claire & henry

It is 80 degrees and sunny right now in Seattle.  Even though it’s totally out of the norm [we’re breaking record high temps], something still feels a little odd about posting photos of a family bundled up in jackets & sweaters.  But this family is just too cute to keep under wraps any longer… meet...

the perfect way to celebrate mother’s day!

“Look at Mommy, kids, and SMILE!”  [[click]]    … another adorable moment documented from behind the camera. I get it.  That’s where I’m most comfortable too.  But, I have a challenge for you this Mother’s Day: GET IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA!  Scary, I know.  What if my kids won’t behave?  What if we have...

happy valentines day!

It feels like I’ve been in the valentines spirit for weeks now- I starting promoting my Valentines Photo Booth back in early January!  But today is the big day! To me, Valentines Day is a whole lot more fun to celebrate with children [I’m not really into the expensive-dinner-and-overpriced-flowers scene].  Hopefully you’ll agree, after you see...

featured product: the storyboard

This year I drastically streamlined my product offerings.  I had my reasons:  1) your decision is now easier,  2) my process is simpler and 3) there are already photo products on the market at prices I can’t compete with  (ie: groupons for 24 x 36 canvases at only $40!) and I want you to take advantage...

judah

The day before my very last session of 2013, my client called to cancel because of a sick child.  Minutes later, I received an inquiry from Judah’s parents wondering if there was any possible way to squeeze them in that weekend. Sometimes things just align perfectly, don’t they? [well, not for the former client’s child]....

a weekend in LA

Twelve years.  Twelve years ago Hannah & I moved into room 313 of Howard Hall.  Twelve whole years have passed since we were sophomores in college, yet twelve years later I still refer to Hannah as my roommate. “Why are you going to LA?” “To visit my roommate.” “You mean your college roommate?” “Yeah, my...

valentines photo booth: an encore!

The overwhelming response to the Valentines Photo Booth has made me so-so-so-happy.  And since I couldn’t accommodate everyone that day, I will be doing a second photo booth event on Saturday, February 1st! Many of you said the afternoon sessions were conflicting with naptime [totally get it… never mess with nap time!] so these will be...

isabella

It was Sunday mass and I was supposed to be paying attention to the priest, but the family in the pew next to me had a pimped out infant carseat and I couldn’t help but watch their baby girl happily play with all the activities [the activity bar was hot pink so I assumed it was...

bode is one!

We met Bode at the park this summer.  “We just moved here.”  Us too.  “He was born just before Thanksgiving.”  Mine was born the day after.  It was obvious that Bode would become one of Colin’s besties. We’ve since had many play dates with Bode and I was thrilled when they asked me to take...

waiting for little sis

The sun was out in full force when I met this sweet family in Mercer Island.  In November.  In Seattle. We have been blessed with such a fabulous fall & early winter.  I’m so glad I was able to take advantage of the weather with some sun-soaked images of soon-to-be-big-sister Brynn and her parents. Photographing...

anthony

Meet Anthony.  He took a break from the college applications to meet me in Seattle’s Gas Works Park for senior photos. Not surprisingly, it was raining during our original appointment.  But, after rescheduling, we LUCKED OUT with an amazing warm & sunny November day.  [I’m learning that being a photographer in Seattle means lots of...

graham & abbey

I grew up with golden retrievers.  I know their love.  Their patience.  Their fierce loyalty to family. And their bond with children. Four-year-old Graham and his pup, Abbey, joined me for a fun adventure [aka: a simple session].  Here are a few of my favorites from our time together: Graham’s mom, Allison, runs the fabulous Seattle...

pretty in pink

“I’m thinking neutrals with pops of pink” she said as we discussed their upcoming family session. Made perfect sense to me… it is a household filled with little girls, after all.   [Although, I was curious to see how Dad would be dressed.] I just love the way Mom played with accessories, textures & layers...

from experienced moms: what to do differently next pregnancy

When I found out I was pregnant with Colin, I created an account with babycenter.com.  For free, they send weekly emails through your pregnancy sharing baby’s development (and the fruit/vegetable most resembling baby that week).  As an extra bonus, you’re automatically added to a “Birth Club” discussion board for all moms with due dates in...

HI, I’M MISS FREDDY.

Actually, my name is Casey. As a newborn I resembled Fred Flintstone so my parents nicknamed me Freddy and it stuck. I am a professional photo organizer (yes, that's a thing!) who helps people all over the world make sense of their photo mess through organizing services and self-paced online courses.

I want to help you ENJOY your photos again!
