New! Apple Photos Crash Course

One of the 2022 goals I set for Miss Freddy was to test creating ‘mini trainings’ on various topics. Sure, I have online courses that dive DEEP into specific topics but sometimes there are fun topics that don’t need a full 2+ hour course, you know? I’ve decided to call these Fast Classes with the goal to...

all about OneDrive

Are you a PC user? Did you know that you get 1TB of cloud storage space with your Microsoft 365 subscription? OneDrive is a great option for cloud storage/backup! I primarily use OneDrive for my PC clients (because it’s already built in!) but it is possible to use it on Mac too. Plus, the OneDrive...

Over the years I’ve shared many family yearbook posts here on the blog and it’s time to reveal my latest album! It looks a little different than prior years because I tried a fabric cover- I wanted something fancier to display on our living room table. It’s a 10×10 photo book from Printique (my favorite)...

YEAR IN REVIEW [2020]

It’s been a year, hasn’t it?  Nothing looked like the plan I created at the end of last year. As I was writing this post I looked back at the goals I listed in last year’s Year in Review post and I was glad to see I did achieve my #1 goal: take the summer...

For years, my favorite place for photo gifts has been Pinhole Press.  I think they have such fun, unique photo gift ideas. And the quality is awesome!   In preparation for the holidays, I’ve pulled together my favorite photo gift ideas… for all ages!  Everything is under $30 and takes only a few minutes to design....

Miss Freddy’s Holiday Gift Guide

Holiday shopping is a little extra challenging this year, right? Usually I’m a proponent of gifting experiences over things, but with travel and many popular experiences limited due to covid, I have another suggestion… gift a gadget to help you organize or enjoy your photos! I put together a holiday gift guide to help. Western...

what is an heic file?

What is an heic file? An HEIC file is a “high efficiency image” format that was created by Apple in 2017. Since then it has become the default format for all photos taken with an iPhone. Heic takes up a fraction of the space of a traditional jpeg file- without losing any resolution! What’s wrong...

all about iCloud

Almost every single client I work with pays for iCloud. Except the majority of them don’t have any idea how iCloud even works or are too scared to stop paying for it. (I get it! Apple makes it scary to leave- are you going to lose everything? yikes!) Personally, I just use the free 5GB...

Our Hawaii Trip + Video Tips!

Our trip to Hawaii definitely didn’t look like we expected it to (we booked this in February 2020 with NO idea how the world was about to change)!  Back then, if you told me that in order to fly to Hawaii, the whole family would have to spit in cups- WHILE ON ZOOM with the...

turning old scrapbooks into a fresh keepsake album

Ever wondered if you should scan old scrapbooks? Recently I worked on a fun personal project: digitizing four very bulky scrapbooks my mother-in-law made 70 years ago during a road-trip around the USA she took with her parents (look below- they’re almost as tall as my computer!), turning them into a fresh, modern keepsake album....

How to document a trip with VIDEO!

At the start of this year, we went on a family ski trip to Lake Tahoe. I decided to document the trip in a new fashion… with VIDEO (after spending 10 years as a professional photographer, this was new territory for me). The result was SO MUCH FUN. The kids loved it. The Grandmas loved...
