isabel – baby photographer in west seattle

This is a little story about the time I got owned by a six month old.  I’m pretty proud of the fact that I’ve only ever had to do one re-shoot in my six years as a photographer (a newborn… it happens).  I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to make kids relax in front of my camera and get some genuine smiles.  Mom said she had her heart set on ONE specific photo from this session- Isabel sitting up & smiling- and I wasn’t worried.  That’s a given at a six month session and six months is one of my favorites to photograph, after all.

I met little Isabel and parents at Lincoln Park and she was content & happy in the arms of her parents.  But, this sweet thing was NOT happy to sit by herself on my blanket while we used all the tricks in the book to cheer her up.  Not wanting to traumatize her too terribly, we agreed to try again another time.

Another day did the trick… as you will see.  Here are my favorites from Isabel’s (one and a half) sessions!

Isabel, thanks for keeping me on my toes and challenging me to up my game.  Those sweet, sweet smiles were absolutely worth it!

HI, I’M MISS FREDDY.

Actually, my name is Casey. As a newborn I resembled Fred Flintstone so my parents nicknamed me Freddy and it stuck.
