There’s something so wonderful about expecting your first baby.  The anticipation.  The excitement.  All the mixed emotions that come with your ‘last moments as just the two of us‘.

This maternity session was full of all those things.  And as I was photographing Hunter & Teryl, I was so full of excitement for them.  Sure, excited for the fun (and craziness) they’d experience in the next few months.  But mostly excitement about the fact that they were documenting this fleeting moment.  Just the two of them in front of the camera.

We met at Golden Gardens in Ballard.  I’ve done sessions in this park before, but never ventured all the way to the beach.  [The very full parking lots had scared me away…]  But I am SO glad that we stopped at the beach for this session!  We were blessed with an amazingly beautiful sunset that evening & these images ended up being my favorites from the session.

[I’ll let you in on a little ‘behind the scenes’ fun fact… the beach was PACKED on this gorgeous evening.  But thanks to some strategic cropping & a couple that was willing to bravely pose next to a gaggle of kids playing with squirt guns… we pulled off a they-have-the-beach-to-themselves look!]
