fit4mom body back: one year later!

One year ago I stopped making excuses and made my health a priority.  A whole year already.  I know it’s been a long time since I’ve written a blog post about my health & fitness journey.  [Mostly because when we moved to Colorado, I had to leave the wonderful Fit4Mom West Seattle community behind and...

fit4mom body back round 2: the results!

For the last 8 weeks I’ve been spending my Tuesday & Thursday evenings with these ladies, watching the sun set over the water while simultaneously working my butt off (literally).  After my first round of Body Back, I got hooked and signed up for round two.  The summer sessions are OUTSIDE and seriously, it’s the...

fit4mom body back: final results

And, just like that… I’m finished with my first Fit4Mom Body Back session!  This girl with me in the photo below, Emily, is the owner of the West Seattle Fit4Mom franchise and she is the reason I signed up.  She was the (persistent) voice in my ear saying that I deserved better than all the...

fit4mom body back: week 6 & 7

It’s been a little while since I checked in about my Fit4Mom Body Back journey.  There was a bump in the road, called Hand Foot & Mouth, that knocked me off course.  Surprise!  Turns out I’m one of the lucky few adults capable of catching this disease and, even better, the older you are, the...

fit4mom body back: week 5

Boom.  Five weeks of Fit4Mom Body Back finished.  This week’s results:  one more pound lost which brings the total to five pounds (in five weeks). This week was especially fun because we ventured outside for a little field trip.  Since it was sunny & almost 70 degrees outside, our class met at the park/waterfront.  We busted our butts...

fit4mom body back: week 4

Wow.  The half way mark of Body Back!  I truly feel like it was JUST March 1st when I was fearing the fitness assessment and trying to find any excuse NOT to do this.  But here we are:  four weeks finished already! This week I dropped one more pound bringing the total to four pounds (in...

fit4mom body back: week 3

Three weeks of Fit4Mom Body Back down and I can’t believe how quickly they’re flying! This was my first ‘normal’ week.  At home.  Our typical routine.  I was able to attend all the on-site classes, do the at-home workout, and cook relatively healthy meals.  After the week, I’m down 1 more pound.  It feels like...

fit4mom body back: week 2

Two weeks of Fit4Mom Body Back are in the books already!  (Actually, nearly three weeks are complete now… had to delay this post because of my ‘preserving your memories‘ series this week!)  The bad news: the scale didn’t move this week.  My routine & diet were in flux while entertaining a visitor.  I had to...

fit4mom body back: week 1

I previously shared that I finally stopped making excuses, signed up for a session of Fit4Mom Body Back, and will be blogging weekly updates about the 8-week adventure. Well, last week was Week 1.  Except… it coincided with our trip to visit John’s family in Florida and I couldn’t actually attend any of classes.  I was a little...

no more excuses

“I can’t this round.  My husband travels for work and it’ll be too hard to make the classes.” “Not this time.  No childcare.” “I can’t this session.  We joined a gym so I’m good.” You name the excuse. I’m pretty sure I gave it to Emily (owner of Fit4Mom West Seattle) when she asked me...
