fit4mom body back: final results

And, just like that… I’m finished with my first Fit4Mom Body Back session!  This girl with me in the photo below, Emily, is the owner of the West Seattle Fit4Mom franchise and she is the reason I signed up.  She was the (persistent) voice in my ear saying that I deserved better than all the excuses and I needed to give this program a try.  I’m so glad I said yes!

The results from my first session of Fit4Mom Body Back, an intense 8 week personal training program specifically designed for moms.

Before I share the results, I need to paint a little picture:  the morning of final assessments was cold & began with a light rain.  I wasn’t terribly concerned because I’d done my initial assessment in the rain, but it quickly escalated into a full on downpour.  As I was running my mile on the track, there was so much water washing down my face that I couldn’t wipe it away quickly enough to matter.  I’m not sure if the rain impacted our results, but I do know that it motivated me to MOVE QUICKLY and made me feel like a badass after I was finished (we are absolutely SOAKED in the photo above)!

All in all, I’m most proud of the 3 inches I dropped from my waist and the 1:45 I cut off my mile.  I have noticed the biggest change in my increased ab/core strength for sure.  If I’m being honest, the instructors were VERY generous when they counted 12 sit ups at my initial assessment.  My form was terrible and I was shocked to realize how dramatically the two pregnancies had impacted my abdominal muscles!  I’m also surprised with the amount of change that was possible (in my biggest problem area!) in such a short amount of time.

I still have a ways to go on my weight loss though.  I set a personal goal to lose 10 pounds in this 8 week session, and fell short.  I’m not upset about missing that goal, as I know I gained quite a bit of muscle, but it means that I will be doing another 8 week session to continue my progress.

If you’ve been inspired by my journey & results, I really encourage you to join me and give it a try!  Learn more about the Body Back program in West Seattle or if you’re not in Seattle, find a location near you!
