enjoying winter break at home. Ella is still too young to leave with someone so we didn’t plan any travel for the holidays.

wishing for snow! We have attempted to ski twice this year and the snow is just awful. It was 40 degrees and slushy, like the conditions of closing weekend of a ski season!

eating all the Special K Bars (also known as Scotcheroos). I really only make them at Thanksgiving/Christmas and I can’t control myself near the leftovers!

celebrating that Ella is now 6 months old! Several people told me things get easier with puppies when they reach this age and that’s been true with her. She’s potty trained and isn’t nipping us as much, but dang she still loves to get into mischief (she will put ANYTHING in her mouth when you’re not looking… opening Christmas presents was a circus)!

researching home generator/power solutions after spending 60+ hours without power this month. Since moving into our new house this summer, we’ve already had four really significant power outages (long enough to have to throw away a bunch of food from the freezer/fridge) so it would be nice to have a reliable solution.

reading My Merry Mistake on kindle. Thought I should read something ‘festive’ for the holidays and so far it’s cute.

listening to The House of my Mother on audiobook (the Franke family story). This is certainly not festive or cute, hah!

playing with the new LED floor lamps the kids got from Santa. They play all kinds of fun patterns or sync with music!  

obsessing over mosaic crochet. The last blanket I crocheted was for a baby girl who is now 14 years old, so it’s certainly been a minute. But I recently discovered this mosaic crochet pattern and I think it’s so beautiful! I can’t believe how easy it is to do.
