is baby #2 pink or blue?

Yesterday was our 20 week ultrasound and we are SO THANKFUL for a healthy baby.  With Colin we didn’t find out what we were having, so this time we decided it would be fun to try something different.  The ultrasound tech shared the gender with us & last night we shared the news with Colin [watch the video below!]

My personal thoughts on finding out the gender:  Finding out was THRILLING.  Having a ‘surprise’ last time was neat in its own way too.  Mostly, I love that we have plenty of gender neutral clothes & equipment that we can use again.  But, for me, personally, I felt I didn’t connect as much with the baby in-belly without knowing the gender [it was kind of awkward for me to talk to the baby without using a specific name/sex].  And, after all the waiting, I was SO EXHAUSTED in the big moment of the reveal that I was mostly thankful the baby was OUT & didn’t really feel an emotional rush regarding the gender specifically.  Obviously, there were pros & cons each way and I’d never change the way we did it, but it was fun to try a little of both!
