life right now [september]

currently…

cherishing snuggles with Colin during his last days as the only child.  So lucky to have this baby boy [now 22 months old!] that loves to snuggle.

waiting for baby girl to make her appearance.  I have to admit, when I planned my blog posts for September, I thought this one would be written with a newborn in my arms.  But, as always, the last few weeks of pregnancy are a lesson in patience.

worrying about all those out-of-my-control details.  what if John gets stuck in traffic?  what if it’s the middle of the night and I can’t get ahold of the person who will be watching Colin?  what if the bridge is backed up and I have the baby in the car?  [oy…. maybe a glass of wine right now wouldn’t be the worst thing!]

reading Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.  I’m enjoying this one, for sure, although it’s not exactly what I envisioned based on the title.  It’s a fictional work about the Japanese internment camps.  And it’s based in Seattle so the historical descriptions of the city have been fun for me to read.

watching the premieres of all my favorite shows.  Looking forward to Parenthood tonight!

loving yellow nectarines from our local orchard CSA share.  SO DELICIOUS!

enjoying the change in season.  Seattle took the calendar literally and we had an 85 degree day for the final day of summer.  The temps then immediately dropped into the 60s and I did a victory dance for surviving a crazy hot summer without air conditioning!

feeling enormous?  yes, definitely.

looking forward to my mom’s visit & help [especially her home cooked meals]!

praying for a smooth delivery & a healthy baby!
