year in review [2017]

Wow… what a year.  At the start of 2017, I was brand new to Golden, Colorado and working on sprucing up my website for my ‘re-launch’ in our new home town.  Building my business in a new town (again, but hopefully for the final time though) is so emotional!  The excitement of new clients, the discouragement of a light calendar, and everything in between.  Up and down and up and down.

I used my ‘down time’ while business was quiet to get certified as a Professional Photo Organizer.  I was officially certified in April (with appo.org) and expanded my business to offer photo scanning, VHS conversion, photo book design, photo restoration, and digital organization services.  So much (totally nerdy) fun and I’m SO GLAD I took this step for my business.

When I pulled these end-of-the-year numbers, I was truly expecting everything to be lower than 2016… and I was okay with that because it’s tough starting over in a new town.  BUT MY TOTAL PHOTO SESSIONS AND INCOME EXCEEDED LAST YEAR!  I enjoyed a semi-insane “busy season” this fall, visiting old clients in Minneapolis & Seattle, and photographing so many new ones here in Colorado.

I’m so very thankful for every client I photographed in 2017.  I’m excited for more fun in 2018!
