project life: july

You guys.  YOU GUYS.  Something revolutionary is happening in the Project Life world at this very moment. Becky Higgins is about to release a new PROJECT LIFE APP for the iPhone!  As a member of the 2014 creative team, I was lucky enough to be a beta tester and sneak a peek.

I took the app for a test run with my July pages and I AM IN LOVE.  What usually requires a couple hours at the computer with Photoshop, now only requires a few minutes on my couch with my iPhone.  Even though I had already simplified my Photoshop process, I am beyond excited about the ease of this new app.  It will save me so much time!

it seriously couldn’t be easier

As a non-scrapbooker, I don’t get much joy out of the ‘creative’ aspect of memory keeping.  For me, it’s entirely about documenting memories for my family in an annual yearbook.  I want our photos printed and our stories told, preferably in the simplest way possible so I don’t have to invest a lot of time.  And THAT is THIS APP!

Tap, tap, tap, DONE!  Here are my July pages, courtesy of the soon-to-be-released Project Life App!

June 30 – July 6.  We traveled to Wisconsin to visit family.  We were able to see my Grandparents (hadn’t seen them since Christmas!) and indulge in LOTS of frozen custard.  We then ventured north to my family’s cabin where John’s family joined us for a couple days.  We spent lots of time on the lake & Colin witnessed his first fireworks!

July 7 – 13.  There were a lot of photos from our trip so I extended into a second week.  Note the photo of John & Colin on the jetski:  yes, John took our 19 month old son for a jetski ride.   yes, it was very slow.   yes, I was a complete & total nervous wreck.  I guess we know who the ‘fun parent’ will be [was there ever any question?]

July 14 – 20.  Back in Seattle, we did all we could to survive the heat wave without central air conditioning.  Splash pads… wading pools… long drives in the air conditioned car.  As the heat broke, my college roommates arrived for a girls weekend!

July 21 – 27.   More photos of the girls weekend- we spent LOTS of time outdoors [isn’t that the best part of the Pacific Northwest?]  Also, 30 weeks pregnant?  This is going WAY TOO FAST!

July 28 – August 3.  Lots of little moments documented:  a playdate at Rattlesnake Lake, prepping crockpot meals for after baby #2 arrives, an extremely traumatic haircut for Colin, and blueberry picking!

Does the Project Life App sound like something you need to get your hands on?  A release date hasn’t been shared yet, but many other questions have been answered on Becky’s blog.  If you’re following me on Instagram or Facebook, you can rest assured I’ll let you know when it’s available!
