four and a half

Jill, You’re four and a half, baby girl. When I reminded you yesterday that today would be your half birthday, you said “oh good and then NEXT April I’ll be FIVE and a half!” It’s funny because usually you’re trying to act like a baby (asking to sit in a high chair at restaurants for...

life right now [march]

currently… remembering the ‘bomb cyclone’ storm from earlier this month. We were out of power for 20 hours which was an adventure, but we also got to make the cutest tiny snowman (see above). celebrating 20/20 vision! It took about 6-7 weeks to recover from PRK surgery and I’m SO GLAD I did it! organizing photos all...

My favorite part was the 5.3 mile run at Snowmass (Long Shot) where we enjoyed an amazing mountain view at the top (above). enjoying an amazing ski season. We got the new ikon pass this year and have been lucky to try four new (to us) mountains so far...

life right now [january]

currently… recovering from PRK (laser eye) surgery.  PRK is similar to Lasik- it doesn’t have some of the negative side effects, but recovery is MUCH longer.  Instead of immediate results, vision gradually improves over 30+ days of the surgery.  It’s been a week and I can now read screens clearly and drive, but things aren’t quite...

year in review [2018]

Wow… what a year.  At the start of 2018, I was just dipping my toes into the Photo Organizing world when I launched my Backup Bootcamp course.  The first launch was a ‘free challenge’ just for fun, but it gained a lot of momentum and really catapulted the Photo Organizing side of my business.  I’m...

this year’s favorite reads [2018]

This is my SIXTH annual ‘favorite reads’ list and, mostly, that just makes me wonder how in the world my blog is that old already.  But anyway, this year’s list is full of VARIETY… that’s for sure. MY BOOK RECOMMENDATION LIST In no particular order (actually, that’s not true… they’re listed in the order I...

colin is six!

Colin, You are six years old, baby boy!  You’ve gained so much independence this year since starting Kindergarten.  The transition was a little tough on me because I loved spending the afternoons together, but you’re doing so well in elementary school.  I love when you come home everyday and reenact the various activities you did at Kindergarten…...

jill is four!

Jill, You are four years old, baby girl!  If I’m being honest, I’m sad to say goodbye to three years old though.  It’s been my favorite age yet.  You’re smart, independent, capable, quite helpful, and best of all you make me laugh.  Even with all those mature characteristics, your obsession with being ‘the baby’ of...

day in the life [august]

It’s been a minute since I did my last ‘day in the life’ project (and by a ‘minute’ I mean more than 4 months).  But now that school has started and we’ve gotten the hang of our new routine, I thought it was a good time to bust out the big camera and document a...

use your photos: make your own photo calendar!

Photo calendars are SUCH a great gift!  Sure, it’s SUPER easy to make your own photo calendar through many online companies (Pinhole Press’s are my favorite), but if you’re on a budget or just like getting crafty, I created a FREE template that you can print to make your own photo calendar using the Project...

my time-saving trick for catching up on project life

I’ve been using Project Life to create annual yearbooks for my family for over seven years now.  I LOVE using this simple system + super convenient app for telling my family’s story.  Perhaps that’s obvious based on the number of times I’ve shared about it on my blog? Over the years, I’ve streamlined my process quite...
